Memorial Tree planting
When: TBD at TBD
Where: VWHS complex
Lolly & Dale Boley were in charge of the memorial for our deceased classmates (there are now 8) at this years reunion. In the past, the memorial usually consisted of a stand-alone table with a framed list of the names along with some flowers, candles, or other decorative items. This year, they came up with a great idea - to plant a memorial tree on the new VWHS campus to serve as a permanent reminder for us as a class, as well as for their families.
Lolly & Dale approached Bill Clifton at the High School rearding this idea a couple weeks prior to the reunion. He was very receptive and like the idea so well that he indicated several acres of land on the new campus location would be dedicated for this use.
Take pride in knowing our class has set in motion what may develope into a permanent addition to the school's campus. We will have to see how this progresses in the coming years.
Lolly & Dale have donated the tree to be planted and with the help of Van Wert Monuments, a beautiful granite stone engraved to honor our classmates now, and in the future.
A planting ceremony will be arranged in the near future. We encourage all classmates who are able to attend this event. Information will be posted here regarding this event. Keep checking periodically.
